on traveling light

We’re going to the Grand Canyon!

One thought that should cross everybody’s mind – at least once – is what they will, and more importantly, will not bring. Renting a van (even a 15 person van) means that we’re going to have to travel light!

The Grand Canyon

A good rule of thumb is one medium-sized (25 - 30 L) bag per person, along with a non-filled day pack, rolled up and stowed in your main pack until you need it. If you’re really crafty however, you might be able to get by with just a daypack!

There is a ton of information floating around on the subject, but here are two articles to get you started. Read around and give it some thought, because there’ll be a knock-down drag-out brawl if we can’t fit everybody’s stuff in the van come May!

Now, I know you’ve got something to say… so head over to FB and let us know what’s on your mind!

Life, the Forty Acres, and Everything.

If you’re reading this page for the first time, you probably stopped by our booth at the Forty Acres, or on the west mall last week. First of all, thank you! You made our day better just by coming out.

We had a blast getting acquainted with so many lovers of travel – but you didn’t stop just to say hi!

So come get  to know us, hang out, and of course, get ready for adventure!

We meet every Thursday at 6:30 in UNB 4.110 – the African-American Culture Room of the Texas Union Building.

UNB 4.110 is two stories directly above the cactus cafe, and the Union Building is on the west mall between Guadalupe and the FAC.

See you soon!
